The Kitsilano Coalition's efforts have been featured on CTV News: Controversial homeless housing proposal: Vancouver council flooded with feedback on Kits plan.
Minister David Eby is quoted as saying, “I want to assure people that if issues did come up, I’d be quick to respond to them, because we need housing like this across the city,”
We would like to point out that Minister Eby has not responded to any of the community's concerns in any measurable way so far, so we do not believe this will change if this rezoning is approved. In fact, we would expect the opposite.
Throughout this entire proposal process, this community has endured a complete lack of transparency, misleading statements and lack of information from this Minister.
You can also read more about David Eby's direct thoughts about the flaws in this supportive housing model on our blog: David Eby Recognizes “Supportive” Housing is Not Working For All.
Please reject this rezoning and force Mr. Eby and BC Housing to engage responsibly with this community.
